Beautiful, Loved & Blessed

Today's song is a new song by Prince.
And a new song by Tamar.

Its by both of them.

"Beautiful, Loved & Blessed" is a duet written and sung by Prince and his new female protégé Tamar. It is set to be on both of their albums (3121 by Prince and Beautiful, Loved & Blessed by Tamar). Maybe he will make a movie where he makes her jump in the lake half naked also....

And on a very positive note....the boy's tax check came back. Which means, the CD buying drought is over. I bought 4 CD's this weekend. So some new reviews are forthcoming...

But for now, just enjoy Prince and (the super fine) Tamar.

Skateboard P

I haven't really felt like writing anything for the past week. All I've been doing is listening to a gang of Jay Dee stuff. Slum Village, Common, Phat Kat, etc...

Now I'm finally in a mode where I can listen to other music.

A few years back,when Pharrell Williams appeared on BET's 106 & Park, and declared that Jay Dee was his favorite producer, most in the crowd of youngers, and even the 2 dim witted hosts, AJ and Free, had no idea who he was talking about. Real people who knew real music loved and were influenced by Jay Dee.

The song I've chosen to post is an interesting song from Pharrell Williams' "never really gonna ever drop" solo LP called In My Mind. Its title "Angel". The singe has been sitting on my desk for a few weeks, but I hope this ain't the one they are gonna go with for the next single. Black radio will all but ignore this song...But then again, I don't listen to urban radio or watch TV, so its could be blowing up right now? Is it? lol....I doubt it.

From what many consider to be a classic album Fantastic Vol.2....

"Climax", by Slum Village.

One of the smoothest songs you'll ever get the pleasure of hearing. I used to just listen to the instrumental and zone out. Most of Jay Dee's beats are like that.

My favorite producer, Detroit Native James Yancey, known to many as Jay Dee, J Dilla, or just Dilla, has left us at the age of 32.
