Get Yo @$$ Up Out My Way Satan.....

Music of my mind.....and what is on my mind right now?

I got into a situation/conversation where I ended up defending hip hop mainly...and as a part of that, southern hip hop.....And unsuccessfully semi-defending one of the foulest, most vulgar songs in recorded rap history (no I'm not saying what is was, you'll just have to guess).

So the aim of this post is to highlight one of the greats of the south . Z-Ro. A Texas legend. Who for almost a decade has made some of the most heartfelt music in the entire rap game. And who has more to talk about than sex and drugs.

"They thought hip-hop was only guns and alcohol....." (c) Andre 3000

A member of the legendary Screwed Up Click (a group of rappers associated with the late DJ Screw, which included Lil Keke, Lil Flip, Big Pokey, and others). Because of his uncomprising style and honesty, Z-Ro will never be a household name, as he is barely concerned with being famous, and more concerned with being true to himself.

He has dozens of albums and mixtapes, but from my personal favorite Life of Joseph W. McVey, I have posted 2 of my favorite selections.

Z-Ro-"Happy Feelings"

Z-Ro-"I Hate U"
