They Don't Love You Like I Love You.....

Another song from my Philly days. I don't know why I'm posting all these depressing songs from when I lived in Philly, cuz I dang sure aint depressed. I guess I'm moreso....reflective.

When I was working at the record store in Philly, someone hipped me to this loud, angry, aggressive punk group from New York with a female lead singer. The name of the group was the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Lucky for me, the white boy (I see you Kev) whose couch I was sleeping on at the time, bought the CD. Fever To Tell was disturbing, aggressive, eggy, and vulnerable.

The song that stood out most to me (and about a year later would be made into a video) is "Maps". The lyrics are simple, but enough to evoke vivid imagary. I would literally sit and listen to it on repeat. And I wish I had the video to post, cuz the video brings out all the emotion of the song...

Nevertheless...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs-"Maps"
